HOUSE WIEDEN is a solo 82 page choose-your-own-adventure short story.
Time: 45 min - 75 min
You’re in Liberty, the new capital of Europe, which is where Sweden used to be. You were born in 1996 and so you do remember life before the internet. You recall calling friends on a landline to arrange meet-ups in the park and the growth of social media when you were a teenager. You remember your first job and losing it in 2026 to the first wave of AI.
You are 74 years old. You have no children or partner. You survived the huge European famine of 2040-2050, though it has left its mark. The polluted air gave you bad asthma and the poor diet at the time caused multiple autoimmune illnesses and frontal lobe dementia. You still remember everything, so it can’t be as bad as the doctors believe. That’s what you tell yourself anyway. Because of your health and financial situation, you can’t manage to live independently. As a result, you’ve been given a room at “Haus Wieden.”
HOUSE WIEDEN is a solo choose-your-own-adventure game about surviving the horrors of getting old under capitalism. You will have to navigate dementia and your life in the elderly care facility.
